Ana Torroja becomes Marchioness after inheriting the title that Franco granted to her grandfather

Ana Torroja is already a marchioness. This follows from the publication of the Official State Gazette (BOE), which has ordered that “the Royal Letter of Succession as Marchioness be issued in favor” of the singer.

The one who was the vocalist of Mecano claimed the marquisate last december after the death of his father, José Antonio Torroja Cavanillas. His parent inherited this title after the death of his grandfather, the engineer Eduardo Torroja Miret, to whom Franco granted it posthumously.

Today the BOE already publishes the order signed by the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, by which Ana Torroja becomes Marchioness. “This Ministry has seen fit to provide that, upon payment of the corresponding tax, it is issued, without prejudice to a third party with a better right, Royal Letter of Succession as Marchioness of Torroja in favor of Aña Torroja Fungairiño“.

This will be one of the few titles that they will not disappear with the Democratic Memory Law because in this those linked to “intellectuals, scientists and academics” are not considered that have nothing to do with the dictatorship.
