From the comfort of your living room, and with the faithful company of Poncho, one of your pets, the singer Luciano Pereira declares first that he is happy, with that same feeling he receives this newspaper -virtually- to talk about his recent musical premiere Stay, whose collaboration with Alexander Fernandez surprised his followers.
“It was fantastic, because the moment we sent the song to Alejandro, he immediately took over, joined in, said that he loved the song and that he wanted to sing it…” reviews the first Argentine to perform a song with Fernández, originally from Mexico.
“It is an honor that Alejandro has agreed, that he gives me that possibility, and being able to make a song together is a privilege for me”says the interpreter.
He maintains that he is an artist whom he has always admired, respected and learned from, because just like him he has contributed to the folklore of his country of origin, from music. “I thank God, life and music for the possibility that it gives me, to meet those artists that one always dreamed of and wanted to meet; and suddenly finding you in a recording studio, or on a stage to compose or share songs is a privilege and continuing to learn from them is the most important thing for me”, expresses the interpreter of the popular theme No witnesses.

This song was composed together with the Mexican producer Aureo Baqueiro in Los Angeles. “We finished the song and made a little mock-up with a piano, and the next day we added a guitar and said the song would make a good single. As its title says, the lyrics evoke that feeling of having close to what you love and completely overcome distances. “It talks about asking the other person to stay, having the courage and that love for the other person to say ‘stay’ because only your presence does me good, it fills me. Call it saying ‘stay’ to a couple, to friends, to a family member, to the beautiful moments of life that one has had to live, to our loved ones, such as pets “, expresses the artist.
She comments that the story of this song has a woman’s face, since everything arose with an invitation that ended up being special. “A lady invites me to her house for coffee and when she went to get the coffee she told me ‘just stay’, and we ended up having tea, because there was no coffee. I loved it, I thought it was beautiful”, relates the artist who later shared this anecdote with Baqueiro.
However, he confesses that the word ‘stay’ has taken on another dimension in his life. “It is a word that today has another importance and another weight in my life. We have had to say goodbye to many loved ones at this time, and I have said ‘stay’ a lot. There is a part of the song that says ‘I know it’s part of my selfishness but without you nothing is the same’Sometimes you are very selfish because you want it for yourself. But there are several phrases in this song that mark a lot.”
He considers it a ‘super dedicated’ song in these times of pandemic. “This song talks about hugs, where we really miss hugs or that handshake… where you get tired of seeing the other person you love through a screen, a phone”, mentions the artist, who says he dedicates it to his girlfriend, his pets and the beautiful moments of his life.

On YouTube you can enjoy it in the company of a video clip in which the style of the two artists merges with the angelic image of the protagonist. “The model also represents love in general, or those beautiful moments that one wants to be kept in the heart”, exposes.
The song is part of his next album, the same one that he has been working on since 2019 and that until now has presented songs like As usual, with Denise Rosenthal; you’re falling in love with me, with Greeicy; or I fall in love with you, with Lang Lang. “Each one has been adding their magic to this album,” says the artist.
