On the train that was under fire by the Germans, somewhere near Minsk, my mother felt the pains of childbirth. And somewhere on the road, I was born. I can say that I was born on the train. For me it was a rather indifferent experience then, but maybe then my appetite for life was born – on my 70th birthday.

Jazz is an incredible opportunity for creative development, freedom, the ability to choose a style, improvise, a chance to live, it gives joy and satisfaction. I think most jazzmen are of the same opinion. However, do I feel fulfilled? I’m still waiting for something else. I feel unsatisfied with the events in my life, definitely unsatisfied
