Face oils: how to use?
Face oils are based on ingredients derived directly from nature. This means that they are rich in various vitamins and minerals, but also fatty acids that are extremely important for the condition of the skin. Most of the women who use them regularly notice an improvement in the appearance of the skin, its better hydration, and thus a visible improvement in elasticity. After using the cosmetic, the skin is nourished, smooth, and any irritation is alleviated. Natural oils for the face can be used for specific care purposes:
- as a product intended for cleansing – natural oils gently yet effectively remove impurities formed on the skin. At the same time, they do not dry out or irritate the skin.
- as a remedy – face oils perfectly dissolve make-up, are delicate, so they can be used safely around the eyes and mouth.
- as a moisturizing cosmetic that creates a barrier on the skin that prevents water from evaporating.
- to relieve inflammation – some oils have strong regenerative properties and help heal inflammations.
- to lighten scars, such as acne scars.
Although the beneficial effects of face care oils are indisputable, you need to know how to use them in order to achieve phenomenal effects and at the same time not to hurt your skin. This cosmetic, used in an uncontrolled manner, can lead to visible and deterioration of its condition. That is why it is worth remembering a few things when using face oils:
- oils do not moisturize the skin, but only retain water in it; therefore, before applying the product to our mouth, it is worth applying a moisturizing cream first
- if we want to use this cosmetic on oily or oily skin, then it is better to give up the cream and use only the oil
- in the case of dry skin, we can create a mix, i.e. add a little oil to the cream, then it will be even more nourishing for the skin.
Face cleansing oil – how to do it?
Contrary to appearances, face oils do not have to be bought in a drugstore or cosmetic store. At home, we can also prepare a product that will be used for daily face care. How to prepare a face cleansing oil? Well, it is enough to have:
- a bottle with a dispenser with a capacity of 100 ml
- base oil, e.g. grape seed oil
- a fragrance, such as tea tree oil
- an emulsifying agent that will allow the oil to combine nicely with the water that we will wet our face (glyceryl cocoate).
It should be remembered that such a cosmetic is safe, natural and does not irritate the skin. In addition, it effectively removes impurities from the skin, but also makeup residues. By adding a few drops to it, we will make it gain anti-acne and antibacterial properties. In turn, adding rose oil will not only give your home cosmetic a wonderful fragrance, but also intensify its anti-inflammatory properties.
What face oil? What is worth considering when choosing?
The amount of this type of cosmetics available on the market can overwhelm even seasoned beauty experts. In order to choose the right face oil, the most important thing is to identify the skin’s needs. Dry skin will require more fatty oils, while oily skin should be treated with a cosmetic that will help fight the overproduction of sebum.
Taking into account the type of skin, we can choose from natural face oils:
- for dry skin – this type of skin is privileged when it comes to choosing this type of cosmetic, because virtually any oil is suitable for it. Coconut, avocado or macadamia flavors will be especially recommended. Each of them will create an effective barrier against water loss, and thus improve the condition of dry epidermis
- for normal skin – it is worth choosing oils that will protect against water loss, but at the same time will not leave a greasy film on the skin; argan or almond oil will work well in this role
- for oily skin – here the choice of an oil requires great care; it should be light and not clog pores, so the best ones are: grape seed or rosehip.
