Bastille, in cooperation with the EMI label and Spotify, prepared an unusual project FutureScape Dream Analyzer, part of which is artificial intelligence. The innovative, interactive venture encourages fans to anonymously post on the Future Inc. website. descriptions of your dreams. The collected data will be analyzed and combined into a collective, visual dream landscape in the form of a unique stream of images that will ultimately – with the help of artificial intelligence – create The Dream Gallery and allow users to visualize their dreams.
“Give Me the Night”. Bastille for the first time in collaboration with external authors
The resulting collective dream will be used to illustrate individual songs from the “Give Me The Future” album, and the dream images accompanying the new Bastille songs will be available only on the Spotify platform. The cover of the band’s playlist will be replaced by the first art in the history of Spotify created by artificial intelligence. In addition, FutureInc.world will be integrated with the Spotify app, playing the album’s music during the dream acquisition phase. The site will also show the band’s dream projection, inviting fans on a journey into their subconscious. In addition, users will be encouraged to return to the site and watch the group dream evolve.
When it comes to music, on “Give Me The Future” we hear disco bass lines, synthesizer orchestrations, guitars, futuristic gospel, sounds of spaceships, euphoric strings, vocoder, distorted vocals, technical choir and a whole lot of beats. The title number is a nod to Phil Collins and The Police, “Shut Off The Lights” is an audio love letter to “Graceland” by Paul Simon, and “Stay Awake” will certainly evoke associations with Daft Punk or Quincy Jones.
For the first time, people from outside were invited to work on the new Bastille album. And although the main producers are Dan Smith and a regular associate of Mark Crew, they worked with Ryan Tedder on “Distorted Light Beam” (Adele, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift); in turn, the co-author of “Thelma + Louise”, “Stay Awake” and “Back To The Future” is Rami Yacoub (“… Baby One More Time” Britney Spears, the album “Chromatica” by Lady Gaga). British songwriters Jonny Coffer, Plested and Dan Priddy also contributed to the creation of the material. In addition, the recordings were attended by the acclaimed actor, musician, director and activist Riz Ahmed, whose voice appears in “Promises”.
As part of the “Give Me The Future” promotion, in the coming months, Bastille will give a series of concerts in the UK, and will tour the USA in May and June.
