Already during the summer holidays, the network was circulated “”, which often showed the cosmic amounts that had to be paid for dinner by the Polish sea. However, the prices did not end with the last days of vacation. The last few months in Poland have been marked by the ubiquitous one. Virtually everything went up in price – from electricity and gas, through construction products, services and fuel, to basic groceries. Almost everyone notices an increase in prices, but not everyone remembers how much a given product cost, e.g. a few years ago. One of the most popular Polish ones, therefore, decided to recreate its purchases from 2017 and compare those prices with those today.
She made the same purchases as in 2017 and compared the receipts. How have prices changed after 5 years?
GlamPaula is one of the leading creators on Polish YouTube, who runs two channels – one is subscribed by over a million people, and the other over 800,000. Due to the huge buzz on the web with the topic of price increases, GlamPaula decided to recreate what she recorded for her viewers and viewers in 2017 and see how much prices have changed over the past few years. She bought, among others apple juice, grapes, sausages, cottage cheese, pasta and corn flakes.
Many comments from female and male internauts appeared under the post. What do they think about such a comparison and price increases?
I’m glad you made such a movie. I can see after my purchases what the price jump is, a few years ago I had shopping for PLN 100 for 5 days and now PLN 100 is for about 3 days
Sad but true
We closed at PLN 180 for two-week shopping … And yesterday, the same products were PLN 260!
Vegetables and fruit became more expensive because the prices of fertilizers and electricity increased, which is known to translate into the price of their production. What scares me the most is fuel: this month I spent PLN 700 just on commuting
I am honestly very worried about the future. Now, as long as I am a student and I still live with my parents who pay for food, I can afford “better” products, because my parents earn well. However, when I think about the future and living on my own, I am terribly afraid
I think that for 5 years it is not bad … I honestly thought that the difference would be bigger, so I think it’s cool
The lettuce is also very expensive, PLN 6 apiece? Also broccoli, coffee, oil. I don’t know how people are supposed to eat healthy as it becomes more and more expensive
The only solution is to buy as much as possible on the ferries and stock up on them. This is what I do and I count on the receipts how much I have managed to gain.
Everything is getting more expensive now, but it also has its benefits. My family has been running a small raspberry plantation for several years, last year the price for one kg was over PLN 10. For the first time in several years, I managed to earn more.
Big change. Otherwise, less than PLN 100 and almost PLN 150 is spent
Scary … I already see huge differences compared to 2020 … The same purchases PLN 50 more and the payment is the same …
