Paulina Porizkova is very active on Instagram, which has made it a kind of platform for discussing female maturity. The open-minded model is against the pressure of perfect appearance on women, and one of the topics she discusses most often is, of course, the issue of improving her beauty.
Paulina Porizkova honestly about the aging process
Porizkova openly criticizes the belief that wrinkles or gray hair are a cause for shame, which we should mask as soon as possible.
– I could make a 39-year-old of myself. I have the resources for it. Why don’t I choose to do it? I believe our maturing faces and bodies are non-collapsing ceilings that require immediate repair. It is just another kind of beauty that is neither seen often nor even accepted. It’s the richness of summer that slowly turns into an explosion of colors for fall. (…) We should be happy with every change. We all have our favorite season, but that doesn’t detract from the beauty of any of them. It’s our role as women to applaud and support each other before all the rest join us, says the supermodel, who posts natural photos on her profile, without filters or other enhancements.
And although many women appreciate her honesty, her photographs are often accused of elevating herself over women whom nature has not endowed with similar beauty, and who have opted for aesthetic medicine treatments.
– When I write that I do not use filters or use botox, many people accuse me of feeling better about it. (…) This is not what it is about at all. I just want to be a representation. I want to show you what it all looks like when you are a 56 year old woman and you haven’t done anything with your face. I would like to see more women who didn’t do anything to themselves, to know better what I usually look like at my age. In this era of artificiality, it is sometimes difficult to know what’s real. (…) I have no problem with the fact that women take control and decide about their appearance. All the better for them, ‘Porizkova explained.
