‘Sueño Rush’, a six-day performance with only one on-site spectator

An abandoned office in Guayaquil, six oneiric dreams, an on-site spectator, and an experience is what Lalo Santi’s proposal seeks.

An unconventional space, such as an abandoned office in the center of Guayaquil, will become the setting for a performance experimental shared in six nights. the scenic artist Lalo Santi presents a piece for a single spectator per face-to-face function; is about Dream Rush, an interdisciplinary proposal that captures the transit of the human being.

The nonsense of four artists flows in Casa del Barrio

Dream Rush talks about a dream that I have in my poetic universe”, Santi, affirms the creator and director, who reveals that the idea of the montage arises from a series of questions that arise from a stage that he is going through with the mother of his son.

“In general, my creations are always driven to be done from my own need, what happens to me at the momentThat’s why when I propose dreams I imagine my son in a dreamlike poetic world similar to the one I am also used to transiting, to live (…) many questions arise about my son’s future, what he is feeling right now. How is he going to grow up and how is he going to develop into a character when he’s growing up with separated parents…” Detail Guayaquil.

To describe these sensations, it resorts to six dreams that will be presented one each day, from January 24 to 29 in its first series and from January 31 to February 5 in its second edition. “It occurred to me to work on an action, a performance per day in which each day works independently, if you watch the action for a single day, you take a story with you, because it is an action based on images that connect you with your cultural baggage as a spectator”, holds.

This is how dream 1 called greenhouse body (will be presented this Monday and January 31) will talk about the origin. Meanwhile, dream 2 called Body-serial (Tuesday January 25 and February 1) will present an actress located in the stage of 8 years of age. “At the moment he decides to form his character,” says Santi.

Dream 3 is the Body-conquered (Wednesday, January 26 and February 2), will also be played by an actress and its axis will be memories, her first love, her first goodbye.

Dream 4 called Body-putre-facto (Thursday, January 27 and February 3) will deal with beliefs, about what being built as a human being.

Meanwhile, dream 5 will explore the adult stage, when he meets the world of work. This piece is named Body-Empty and will be presented on January 28 and February 4.

the last dream is irreversible body (Saturdays, January 29 and February 5) and will be staged by a 65-year-old actress. “It speaks of that irreversible turning point that we are already destined to live… in which the tower falls, your beliefs fall, they crumble, that world that you thought was perfect is not”Santi explains.

Being an interdisciplinary proposal, it integrates the visual arts, theater, dance, plastic works, cinema and more. “That touches my interest a lot because I build it from signs, I connect many random things, I connect many mystical things… that results in a performance quite particular, quite beautiful (…), I am experimenting with a form of non-linear narration”, expresses the degree in theatrical creation.

Each function has an approximate time of 30 minutes and will be presented for a single spectator in its face-to-face setting. “I like to unsettle the public… each day a single spectator will accompany us. It will be in an office that has been abandoned for ten years in the center of Guayaquil, and I prepared a quite unconventional room inside, there are lights, sounds, which invites a spectator to live an experience of amazement, of leaving of the daily life of the city, says Santi, who will act in some fragments.

Maintains that Dream Rush has as reference the work of David Lynch. “I combine my artistic activity with cinematographic references… this poetic universe that I try to achieve is referenced in David Lynch”, bill.

“I build a very futuristic space inside the office, and one of the things that helps a lot is the sound. So that hybridity, that futurism, that non-place, has a lot of color. So that’s where the word rush comes from, a bit of red, that inexplicable hidden dream, that we have asleep, sometimes colorful, sometimes monochromatic”, he adds.

The functions will also be broadcast live at 6:00 p.m. on the Sueño Rush Facebook page, on the corresponding dates. (I)
