Suwałki. Henryk Sienkiewicz’s “Deluge” returned to the library 65 years after it was borrowed

– Old books were found in the house for liquidation. One of them had a library stamp. The finder decided that it should be returned and brought it to us. On the basis of the stamp belonging to the County Library in Suwałki at that time, we concluded that the book had to be borrowed before 1956, i.e. at least 65 years ago, said Maria Kołodziejska, director of the Public Library in Suwałki on the air.

Will it be possible to borrow it? – She will stay in the library, we will not lend her to anyone and nobody will be able to hold her for that long – added Kołodziejska.

A librarian’s nightmare, or record holders in keeping books
