‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is the name of the series that Amazon will premiere in September

Amazon Studios announced on Wednesday the title of its long-awaited series on the world of The Lord of the rings, produced by the Spanish J.A Bayona, which has titled Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

The plot of the new program will be set in the Second Age, “thousands of years before” the events narrated in The Hobbit and in the trilogy J.R.R. Tolkien adapted for the big screen, and It will narrate how the rings were forged and distributed among the different races.

“This is the title we imagine could live on the spine of a book alongside other JRR Tolkien classics.” said the show’s executive producers J.D. Payne Y Patrick McKay in a statement sent to the press.

“Until now, audiences have only seen the story of ‘The Ring’ on screen, but before there was one, there were many more…and we’re excited to share the epic story of them all.” they added.

The series will arrive simultaneously and in several languages ​​at 240 countries next September 2 through the platform Prime Video, where new episodes will be available every Friday.

The series, whose first season has been shot in New Zealand, begins in a time of relative peace and stars both new and familiar characters, who face the resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.

As announced by Amazon Studios last August, the recording of the second season will take place in the United Kingdom from the spring of 2022. (I)
