The actress from San Sebastian Carmen de la Maza has died at the age of 81 after a long illness.
The mortal remains of the actress, born in San Sebastián in 1940, will be veiled this Saturday.
Daughter of the guitarist Regino Sainz de la Maza and granddaughter of the writer Concha Espina, she dedicated a large part of her life to the theater.
After studying Dramatic Art in Madrid, he began his career by participating in plays such as “Las Señoras Primero”, “Don Juan Tenorio”, “Tartufo”, “Mariana Pineda” or “Dinner for Two”. He achieved great popularity after participating in the mythical “Study 1” or in the dramatic space “Novela”, in the 1960s.
In television fiction, he was in the cast of “Room 508”, and in “Juncal”, by Jaime de Armiñán. He also participated in other fictions such as “Hospital Central” or “El Comisario”.
On the big screen, Carmen de la Maza took part in films such as “Song of youth”, “Beyond the garden” or “The birds of Baden-Baden”, among the most outstanding titles.
