In 2021, Poles listened to the radio a lot, but not the Polish Radio. One fell and Three fell

The average radio range in the 15-75 age group in 2021 in Poland was 67.2%. This is less than in 2020, when the result was 68.9 percent. For several years, a clear downward trend has been visible: in 2019 the coverage was 72.2%, and in 2018 it was 72.4%. – they analyze the results of Radio Track Kantar Polska research.

Radio range has dropped. Trójka and Jedynka the worst in their history

Despite the falling range, the radio remains one of the most popular media. In 2021, on average, two-thirds of Poles (i.e. over 20 million) listened to it for four hours and 19 minutes a day – comments the Radio Track Kantar Polska press office. They most often listen to radio in the car – it was about 11.8 million people, and another 10.8 million did it at home. On average, four million people listened to the radio at work.

The listeners most often chose RMF FM, which recorded an audience share of 29.9%, and the second most popular station was Radio Zet (13.1%) – the stations achieved the highest increase in the rating, amounting to 0.6 percentage point. Radio Eska came third with 7.8 percent. share.

The state-owned Jedynka was just behind the podium, with a decrease of 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous year and now has 4.7%. audience share. This is its lowest result in the history of conducting measurements.

It had an even greater decline: in 2021 it had an average of 1.9%, this was also the difference compared to 2020. It dropped from 7th place to 12th, losing listeners almost every month and recording the lowest results in its history. For comparison, in 2019 it was the fourth most popular radio station in the country with 5.1 percent. share. Let us recall that in 2018 it was 5.7%, and a few years earlier it was even above 7%.

Poor results of Polish Radio tire PiS politicians. Joanna Lichocka regularly tweets entries in which she claims that the Kantar audience surveys do not show “real measurement”, because it is “a survey commissioned by Agora, Radio Zet and RMF FM”. Agnieszka Kamińska, the president of Polish Radio, argues similarly in her statements. In her opinion, the problem is also that the results from large cities are overestimated, which will not take into account the missions of state radio stations. The Radio Research Committee replied to the allegations: in a statement from the beginning of 2021, it was stated that the audience survey has been conducted in the same way for two years and that respondents from all poviats take part in them.
