The Spaniards present ‘A contracorriente’, a single that combines pop with a touch of flamenco and explosive energy.
Although the storm falls, it never loses its strength, affirms Alvaro Soler in his new song together with his compatriot David Bisbal. The Spanish present Counterflow, a single that combines pop with a touch of flamenco and an explosive energy that comes from the performers themselves.
In an interview with this newspaper, Soler says that this song speaks a lot about him as that boy who has always followed his dreams. “The song A countercurrent represents the hardest moments on a personal or professional level. When we started with music, the truth is that we have always had many moments where one goes against the current (…) and the truth is that those stones that come along the way, many times I am a fan of not putting them away but taking them with you to use them and then build something much better. It’s like learning from all that.” says.
“David and I are delighted to be able to send this message to everyone not to give up, not to throw in the towel and keep going until we find that goal, until we find the goal”, adds the artist from Barcelona.
He comments that he wanted to work with Bisbal for a long time. “We wanted to collaborate with David for a long time, in fact, we’ve known each other for three or four years, and I remember that we never caught each other, he had a lot of work there and I worked there…”, says Soler, who took advantage of a moment in which his colleague was also in the studio to present him with the first version of CounterflowWhat happened next was magic, says Soler.
“The best way to collaborate is to be so organic (…), very happy to make a song with someone of the stature of David”, dice.
It is for this reason that he sees this new musical installment with great pride. “It’s a very nice thing when you see someone you admire and that person is a great person. David is a person who works a lot, he loves what he does, he shares the same goals that I have, so it is very easy to work with someone like him (…), and we have had a perfect time…”, express.
The 31-year-old considers himself to be a very positive person, usually exploring various possibilities. “When I saw that something didn’t work out, I kind of tried to see what alternatives there were, how to continue. I believe that patience is something important, many times being patient helps not to throw in the towel (…), sometimes it is better to wait a few days and see how you feel, and if you continue to feel bad, then you have to throw in the towel; It is also true that you do not have to hold on to something. Many times we focus on the things in front of us and lose our distant vision…”, he details.
For more than one, his songs have been an injection of good spirits, happiness, flavor and even romance; songs like The same sun, The waist, Sofia The Fly They reaffirm it. “I think that in the end music, like many doctors, has a force that cannot be described (…), those of us who make music feel very fortunate to be able to be a kind of medium that can reach more people and that everyone can use it as a kind of medicine”, dice.
“It makes me very happy to be able to give a smile to someone with what makes me most excited (music), it’s incredible”, add.
Soler agrees that mental and emotional health go hand in hand with physical health. “I believe that mental health has always been very important, only that we are finally giving it the attention it deserves,” holds.
“In mental health I have supported many initiatives, where the best thing in the end is not to be afraid to ask for help. I think that many people do not dare to say that perhaps they have thoughts that do not help them move forward, that they enter a depression (…), the important thing is to move forward, Asking for help is braver than not doing it. I have a psychologist that I go to and it is fantastic to be able to talk to someone from outside”, highlights.
Counterflow It comes with a video clip that was released this Friday. The filming was in Toledo, in the south of Spain. The audiovisual presents a couple of friends who, after a journey marked by moments of rest and small details, find themselves at a party. “The message is that many of us are just trying to reach the end, and until we reach the end of our goal we don’t give ourselves the opportunity to enjoy or give ourselves a little reward…”, he explains.
“The magic is in the little things, in what surrounds us, and it is very small (…), many times we fly over it, we don’t even see it, because we are in such a hurry in our lives…”, concludes. (E)
