The Weeknd makes Jim Carrey dance. On January 7, the artist will release a new album

“Dawn FM” is The Weeknd’s fifth studio album, announced with the single “Take My Breath”. The album, which is the successor to “After Hours”, considered a breakthrough in the artist’s career, will feature such guests as Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne and the aforementioned Jim Carrey.

Here comes “Dawn FM”. “When you hear these songs, the dance floor will burn”

The cinema star has already shared his impressions about the release. “It’s a deep and elegant thing that made me dance,” he wrote on Twitter. – “I’m excited to have my part in this symphony.” Mark Anthony Green was also delighted in the pre-premiere review in “GQ”:

The Weeknd’s new album is full of hits. Purebred songs for the dance floor – when you hear them, the dance floor will be on fire. Quincy Jones meets Giorgio Moroder at the best party of your life. Nothing out of date. No dressing up, says Abel. The retro trend is pretty strong in pop right now, but these recordings are a new quality. Sweat, blood and tears and winning your dream girlfriend or boyfriend on the dance floor.

From the trailer published earlier this week, we learn that “Dawn FM” is the new sonic universe of The Weeknd. While the cover of “After Hours” saw the bloody face of The Weeknd, the photo on “Dawn FM” shows a heavily aged face of the singer. The album along with The Weeknd is answered by Max Martin, Oscar Holter, as well as Quincy Jones and the master of experimental electronics, Oneohtrix Point Never, with whom The Weeknd collaborated on his latest album “Magic Oneohtrix Point Never” (2020).

Since the premiere of the single “Take My Breath”, which was released in August 2021, The Weeknd has appeared on recordings of such artists as Belly i Nas (“Die for It”), Kanye West and Lil Baby (“Hurricane”), Swedish House Mafia (“Moth to a Flame”) and Post Malone (“One Right Now”). In addition, the artist began working on the set of the HBO series “The Idol”, in which he is a co-writer.
