Grammy Awards. The ceremony was postponed indefinitely. “Too much risk”

This year’s Grammy Awards, scheduled for January 31 in Los Angeles, have been indefinitely postponed due to concerns over the rapid spread of the Omikron coronavirus variant, CBS TV reported Wednesday.

Grammy Awards. The gala was canceled

“We are looking forward to celebrating the Most Important Night of Music in the future, which we will inform about soon,” the organizers of the gala wrote in a press release. “Holding the ceremony on January 31 would be too risky given the spreading omicron variant,” reported CBS and the Recording Academy.

Last year in January, the Grammy Awards were moved to March, but at the end of 2020, the organizers announced that they are trying to change the way this prestigious event took place every year, avoiding the audience and the traditional red carpet.

The Grammy is one of the four most important awards of the American entertainment industry (apart from it, the most important are the film Oscars, the Tony theater awards and the film Emmys). The ceremony is accompanied by performances by artists.
