It is a pity that technologically still a lot of problems there, because in terms of the content of his library, the sender really has nothing to be ashamed of and even with the current mistakes of TVP VOD he copes quite well with commercial competitors. For me, an interesting discovery was the first Polish medical and moral series “Doctor Ewa” with Ewa Wiśniewska in the role of a young doctor who instead of working after studying in the city, chooses a job in a rural clinic. As I read, the production aroused considerable controversy at the first broadcast and was accused of excessively simplifying the realities of life in the countryside, and the doctors complained that the script contains errors in the field of medicine. Nevertheless, the series beat popularity records anyway, and now after years it is an intriguing testimony of the realities of the end of the 1960s and the early 1970s.
Nevertheless, it promises to be watching the series “Road” shot in 1973, which was directed a few years after the success of his comedy Sylwester Chęciński. Importantly, the author of the script of the iconic comedy about Kargul and Pawlak, i.e. Andrzej Mularczyk, together with Chęciński and the award -winning set designer Tadeusz Kosarewicz also worked on the script for the series. In this production, Wiesław Gołas plays the driver of the Warsaw PKS, who has a pigeon’s heart and is a terrible life unlucky. He is a deeply sensitive man who is happy to help others, although he often does not do it himself. Has his favorite saying “absolutely”. Each of his field trip was an excuse for the creators to show cross -sectional characters from various environments and subsequent challenges associated with the realities of the new era. What’s more, the series combines various elements of genre cinema: we have criminal, melodramatic, moral and comedy threads.
At one time there were popular series such as “Jan Heart” (Kazimierz Kaczor as a cannulak from Warsaw’s Wola, who at the age of 40 is still a bachelor looking for the other half. Generations of viewers are warmly remembered by the shot for kids, screening the book by Hanna Ożogowska, the series “Girl and a boy” about a pair of twins, brother and sister, who during the holidays decide to swap places and pretend to each other. And it so happens that they will also watch it on TVP VOD for free. Like the series “Seven Wishes”, “Journey for one smile”, “I bet on Tolka Banana”, “Miss with a wet head” (version from the 90s), “Mal’s madness”, “Sagala Mystery” or “Magic Tree”. I highly recommend the excellent comedy “Ring and Rose” in the serial version with young Katarzyna Figura – a rare case of a fairy -tale musical, which, like “Mr. Kleks”, does not traumatize viewers. I do not know if you need to immediately encourage your children to watch it, but you can definitely devote yourself to the pleasure of nostalgic screenings.
Note, I would also like to fly two Polish cabarets. In addition to the fact that, as you know, the Cabaret of Elderly Gentlemen is a masterpiece that must be loved and respected, you must not forget about the fantastic Dudek cabaret. How many tasty sketches, wonderful songs (I love when Wiesław Gołas sings about how after a sharp party it hurts a man of a stamp of white seagulls) and excellent monologues! The texts wrote, among others Stanisław Tym, Wojciech Młynarski, Andrzej Waligórski and Jeremi Przybora, and mainly Edward Dziewoński, Irena Kwiatkowska, Wiesław Gołas, Wiesław Michnikowski and Jan Kobuszewski performed mainly. I will just say that today no one can do that anymore.
It is also difficult to find a second cabaret like the cabaret later from Zielona Góra, which in the 1990s beat records of popularity. The group presented programs in the climate of Purnonsen, Pastisz, and often the grotesque. Their intelligent and honestly funny performances were seasoned with numerous references to culture and great songs.
