Koniaków is a small village located in the Śląskie Voivodeship, and more specifically in the Istebna commune. With her and with Jaworzynka, she creates the so -called Beskid Triwieś. He leads many interesting and picturesque mountain trails from here, which is why he is visited by hiking lovers. In addition, the town is famous for the production of lace decorations and underwear. There is also Redyk, i.e. traditional grazing and sheep return.
What is Koniaków known for? First of all, made of lace
Koniaków became famous all over the world due to the lace. Learning crocheting here is passed down from generation to generation and it is estimated that there are currently about 700 laces in the village. You can find elaborate decorations at every step: in hotels, restaurants and even bus stops. What’s more, in the center of the village on the wall of one of the one you can find A mural depicting a napkin from Koniaków lace, whose author was the Warsaw artist. Work on the painting lasted four days, and its dimensions are stunning 6 by 14 meters.
Almost everything is made of lace here: tablecloths, napkins, gloves, decorations, dream catchers, bags. What distinguishes the works of residents is the fact that they do not use templates during work. Thanks to this, every product they create is unique and one of a kind.
