The recipe from the oven is very similar to the traditional recipe for preparing these crunchy cookies. The similarity applies to ingredients for brushwood and cake preparation procedures.

Faworki from the oven, however, are much less caloric than those fried in deep fat. This is good news for people who take care of the line and even on Thursday’s translations do not give up counting calories. It is estimated that one favorite fried according to the traditional recipe may have about 87 kcal, while baked faworek is less than 50 kcal. These are obviously approximate values, and the exact data depend, among others from the size of the faworki or the type of fat used for frying.

Faworki – a recipe from the oven – ingredients needed

How to make baked faworki? The recipe from the oven – as we mentioned earlier – is similar to traditional. The following ingredients will be needed to prepare the dough:

  • 500 g of wheat flour
  • 25 g of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of cream
  • 3 yolks
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 and ½ tablespoons of spirit or vodka

In addition:

  • powdered sugar for sprinkling ready faworki

Our simple recipe for faworki in the oven is as follows:

  • Step 1. Sift flour on the board or top, then add cream, eggs, chopped butter, a pinch of salt, baking powder and spirit
  • Step 2. We combine all ingredients thoroughly and start kneading the dough into a homogeneous, smooth mass
  • Step 3. Wrap the dough with cling film and place in the fridge for about 1-1.5 hours
  • Step 4. We pull the dough out of the fridge and roll it out on the counter. We fold the dough in half, then hit it with a roller. Aeration of dough is a very important stage of preparing home faworki, because it translates into their consistency and crunchiness. We perform the action for about 10 minutes
  • Step 5. Roll out the dough and cut into rectangles. Cut each rectangle in the middle, and then translate one of the sides through the resulting hole. We put the cakes on a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving small spacing between them

How to bake from the oven? Put the sheet with ready-made in the oven preheated to 180 ° C (top-down). The indicative baking time is 8 minutes, but they should be closely observed. Sometimes they are browned after 5 minutes.
