The first two seasons “” were generously showered with industry awards: a total of 18 Emmy (and 28 nominations), two (including for the best female and serial anthology role) and several other awards and 70 additional nominations. This is due to the deliciously selected cast and scenarios, in which the creator of production Mike White beautifully fools out of various vices and sins of rich people. Those on a luxurious vacation start the strangest of their behavior and shoot various scandals. However, I was wondering if it makes sense to watch the third season, since there will be no fantastic Jennifer Coolidge in it and whether it is possible to tell something interesting in the same formula. After watching the first three episodes, I found out that it was possible. And it’s like!
Although the story excluded from further entertainment Tanya (i.e. awarded Emma and the Golden Globe creation Coolidge) will remain in my heart forever, but the collective effort of the new and no less delicious cast of it was somehow rewarded. White made sure that the pantheon of various personalities did not run out of elements of positively understood madness and nice incredulation. I bought new heroes almost from space, and I really didn’t think I would be able to do it. Although maybe this time the action is spinning a bit slower than before, an interesting mix of these characters makes you want to get to know them better (even if they are extremely annoying) and find out what they have behind their ears and what else they will do. You can feel that some scandals will be really fat.
“White Lotos” returns for the third time. Draws like a swamp
This time we are moving to the fabulous Thailand and the Biały Lotos Hotel chain there. Three teams of “players” go there for a week. First of all, he is a wealthy ratlyph family: Timothy, handsome and quite nervous businessman (wonderful in sowing with somewhat buffoon energy of the rich white 50-year-old Jason Isaacs, viewers can remember him with the role of Lucius Malfoy in “Harry Potter”), who came to the center with An eternally stuck with some pills, though quite a nice wife Victoria (wonderful in the non -perception of Parker Posey), as well as three surprisingly from each other of various children. The oldest of them Saxon (excellent junior in this edition) is an absolutely unbearable shoe: he works with daddy, peatry protein nutrients to develop muscles, masturbates every day in the bathroom, until he wants to talk only about sex with younger siblings. Piper’s spiritual sister, who is just writing work in religious studies, points out virginity (charming and intriguing Sarah Catherine Hook), a closed brother Lochlan (a nice drug Patravadi) wants to convert into a purebred podrywacze. In fact, in every stage, Saxon says something that a man turns away from embarrassment or disgust. Patrick Schwarzenegger plays this antipathetic character painfully reliably, which makes him even more annoying. Therefore, I do not hide that I would not be sorry if it was the script with a terminal effect.
Saxon is also trying to unsuccessfully collect the attractive Chelsea (known from “” Aimee Lou Wood), who at the same time came to the resort with her gender and much older boy Rick (perfectly repulsive Walton Goggins in her creation). Why are they together, it’s hard to say. She is a free spirit, a former yoga teacher, a friendly and curious about the world, he, a crazy, blastered guy in a tough guy, who has a lot behind her ears and strongly resembles Billy Bob Thornton or ex -husband Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee. I would like to emphasize that Aimee Lou Wood turned out to be an excellent casting choice, because every scene with her participation is basically such that a man laughs into the screen almost unknowingly.
Almost from the machine also feels some discomfort when a team of three blonde friends from America appears on the stage. Kate, Laurie and Jaclyn have known each other since childhood, but their paths have diverged a bit and now, when they are around 50, they decided to make a woman’s trip. Jocelyn (Michelle Monaghan) pays for the trip, because she is a popular actress and recently got married with 10 years younger. Kate (Leslie Bibb) as a thank you wants to at least put her treatments. She is a wealthy and quite conservative housewife who lives with a rich husband in Texas. Laurie (Carrie Coon) feels somewhat excluded in their company. It does not rotate in the world of financial elites or Hollywood cream, because for years he has been developing his career in a New York corporation for years, which also cost it, among others Family life and ended in divorce. The girls seem to emphasize every now and then how they love each other, but let only one go to sleep before – the other two immediately start gossip at the third. The skin suffers a little from that at the beginning, but there is something fascinating about it.
Their stay in the White Lotos is of course supervised by a group of employees, among whom the security guard Gaitok (Tayeme Thapthimthong) stands out with a special charm and goodness. He is such an endearing character that I support him with all his strength and I honestly tremble for his further fate, hoping that nothing bad will meet him. I have the same in the case of MOOK (Lalisa Manobal), which is a bit like a walking sun on the screen. And this is valued, because the further we go with the story, the more thick the atmosphere. In the third episode, you can almost cut the air with a knife: at the same time you suffer from it and you want to get to know the continuation dramatically. There are also tips that are subtly scattered in the script suggesting that knowledge of the plot of the first two seasons can pay off here. The series was cleverly composed and no element appears there accidentally. It is also clear that the cast really tasted in its roles – many scenes seemed to me even intimate in how it gives insight into the psyche of the character. Looking at it is actually pure pleasure. I just hope that this whole tension and the hungry atmosphere will have a satisfactory solution!
