Although more and more is said that breakfast cereal is not the healthiest choice, many people still eat them every day. As part of the “Better dietary election” series, Dietitian Michał Wrzosek advised what we can replace them.

According to the expert, breakfast cereal with milk This is one of the worst elections for breakfast. Such a meal is mainly a source of carbohydrates. It has a negligible amount of protein and healthy fats. In addition, such flakes often have a very high glycemic index. As a result, after consuming them, the sugar levels rapidly increases.

What can we replace breakfast cereals?

In his film, the dietitian reveals what we can replace such flakes. As usual, his method is not violent, thanks to which we will gradually change our eating habits. According to the expert, the base of our breakfast may be much healthier oatmeal. They have a much lower glycemic index, contain larger amounts of fiber, and sugar is not added to them. We can add a small amount of breakfast petals (for example, 20 g). Thanks to this, our porridge will gain a better taste.

Another addition can be nuts or peanut butter (it will be a source of healthy fats), as well as fruit. Instead of ordinary milk, it is worth focusing on high -protein milk or high -protein yogurt.
