Hydrangeas are beautiful bushes that decorate many garden. They can often be found even in green spaces of housing estates. Although they have their own cultivation requirements, a bit of effort will make them bend from tiny flowers arranged in a delightful, spherical inflorescences in shades of pink, blue, purple and white. How to prepare them for the upcoming spring and summer?
How to make hydrangea have a lot of flowers? In spring, don’t forget about this procedure
One of the necessary care treatments that will have a positive effect on hydrangea flowering is the spring cut. It is best to do them in good weather conditions, i.e. in the period when snowfall and minus temperatures are already a past. Choose a relatively warm and preferably cloudless day for this. If you have a bouquet or shrub hydrangea (they bloom on this year’s shoots), do the spring cutting quite low, even up to 2/3 of the rush height or above the third bud. Thanks to this, in the season it will bloom really densely and abundantly.
Just be careful if you do a hydrangea that blooms on last year’s shoots. We are talking about, among others, a variety, oak and football. In her case, the first buds with inflorescences appear already at the end of winter, so forget about standard pruning. Instead, shorten only dry inflorescences and other shootsbut just above the first visible pair of buds.
What fertilizer for hydrangea in spring? Plant under the shrub
Cutting is not the only procedure to be performed on the occasion of the upcoming spring. In addition, this is the right time to nourish a decent dose of fertilizer. In this way you will strengthen it and add energy after shortening the shoots, thanks to which it will bloom even more abundantly. It’s best to use an organic product for this, for example compost, biohumus or manure. The home -made way, which are banana skins, will also work. After cutting, Zakop after one piece under each bush, and will gradually release the nutritional values that will have a positive effect on the plant and its further development. In the summer, your plot will bloom in all shades of blue, purple and pink. Do you do hydrangeas in the garden? We invite you to participate in the poll and commenting.
