People who care about a healthy diet are often looking for substitutes for ordinary sugar. However, many myths about this subject. Dietitian Michał Wrzosek told about one of them. “It’s really a simple refined sugar,” he says on his recording about the popular brown sugar.

A diet rich in sugar contributes not only to increasing body weight, but also to lipid disorders, digestive problems, sleep problems and premature aging. It is not surprising, therefore, that more and more people exclude sugar from their diet or significantly limit its consumption. It also happens that we are looking for healthier options. According to many people, it is brown sugar. However, is this true? Dietitian Michał Wrzosek, popular in social media, spoke on this subject some time ago.

Dietitian with brown sugar: it’s not healthier

Brown sugar is much more expensive than the white one. Many people buy it because they think this is a healthier option. However, it turns out that this is a misconception. And according to the dietitian Michał Wrzoska, this is the worst substitute for traditional sugar. – In fact, it is an ordinary refined sugar, which was colored brown by the addition of a bit of molasses – says Michał Wrzosek on his recording on Tiktoku.

As the expert explains, brown sugar is simply sucrose and nothing more. In addition, the product has as much calories as its white counterpart. – It is not healthier, the only difference between white and brown sugar is color – says Michał Wrzosek. And as he adds:

Even brown sugar unrefined reed is still sugar and if you eat it in excess, it harms your health and fattening.

What results in the different taste of brown sugar? The dietitian explains
