Lego releases a set provided to science. Among the figures of Maria Skłodowska-Curie

Lego announced the premiere of the new set “Evolution of the EXPECTIONS”, to which they will be added to figurines of three outstanding scientists. Among them was the Polish-French Nobel Prize winner Maria Skłodowska-Curie.

“Evolution of Science” consists of 879 elements, among which we find minifigures depicting three famous scientists-Nobel Prize winner Maria Skłodowska-Curie, physics and astronomer Isaac Newton and a pioneer of agricultural sciences: George Washington Carver.

In the description of the set, LEGO indicates that this is a “collector’s model for adults”, and therefore intended for people over 18 years of age. The whole structure is 27 cm high, 23 cm wide and 19 cm deep. The set is now available for pre -sale on the LEGO website for PLN 349.99. The company reserves, however, that The official shipping of products will start only on March 1, 2025.

On the lego website we can read that The author of the set is accountant Daniel Bradley from Great Britain. “As a child, I had an encyclopedia for children, which I was simply fascinated. I wanted to convey the curiosity that she aroused in me, opening this book in which all different areas of STEM come to life” – explained Bradley.

Maria Skłodowska-Curie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which at that time was under Russia’s control. In 1903, together with her husband Pierre Curie and Gustav Bémont, she received the Nobel Prize in Physics for research on the phenomenon of radioactivity. On November 7, 1911, the Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the chemist to the second, this time the Independent Nobel Prize for discovering Polon and Radu.
