The new Polish series conquers Netflix, critics do not like. “Red forehead from making facepalms”

Another Polish series conquers Netflix statistics. Production managed to overtake international hits such as the popular “Yellowstone” in the international ranking.

On January 29, the latest series directed by Łukasz Palkowski, known from other Polish productions such as “Chyłka”, “Behaviorist”, “Żmijowisko” and “Belfer”. This time, the creators undertook the difficult task of portraying environment of Polish football fans.

The five -episode series is the story of seventeen -year -old Kuba, in which Grzegorz Palkowski plays on the screen. His father (Karol Pocheć) just got out of prison after a few years. He is a former supporter who went behind bars as a result of “activities” for his beloved club. Now he wants to cut off from the past, but in the world of hard principles in which betrayal is severely punished, it will not be easy.

Kuba quickly follows his father’s footsteps and joins the local hooligan group. Initial excitement with easy earnings and laws with fans of competing teams quickly turns into chaos when his new girl falls into financial problems. Desperate, they decide on a risky plan to act against the group’s interests, which plunges them in a dangerous world, from which there is no easy way out.

“Screenwriters ate fear of the specifics again”

From the first day after the premiere, the series enjoyed great interest. For several days, it has been number one among the most popular Netflix series, and in the combination he even pierced “Yellowstone” and the hit of the “Night Agent” platform.

A large viewership in the case of “Fan” does not go hand in hand with delight over the series. Filmweba assessed the title of over five thousand viewers, whose average ratings amounted to 5.8 stars out of 10 possible. “17 -year -old gangster playmaker at least strange” – writes critic Marta Płaza, but he adds that the whole “was not so bad”. On the plus side, he includes casting and the pace of dialogues.

Katarzyna Czajka-Kominiarczuk known as the pop cultural animal assesses the “supporter” a bit more severely. “Again a series that is happening ‘somewhere in Poland’ because Screenwriters ate fear of specifics.
