Erica Ash Dies at 46 in Scary Movie

Erica Ash, an actress known for her role as Kendra Brooks in “Scary Movie 5”, has died. The news of the 46-year-old’s death was announced by her loved ones.

According to foreign media reports, Ash died last Sunday in Los Angeles after a “long and courageous battle with cancer,” her spokesperson said. A statement on the 46-year-old’s death was issued by her mother, Diann Ash.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and friend Erika Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Erica was an incredible woman and talented artist who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor and genuine joy for life. Her memory will live forever in our hearts. The family requests that any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or the Breast Cancer Foundation. We are grateful for your outpouring of love and support during this difficult time,” her mother, Diann Ash, told TMZ.

Erica Chantal Ash was born on September 19, 1977 in Florida. After graduating, she began medical school at Emory University, but ultimately chose an acting career. In 2006, she appeared in “The Big Gay Sketch Show” and two years later in “MADtv”. Her career took off in 2013 after the actress appeared in “Scary Movie 5”, where she played the role of Kendra Brooks. In 2021, Ash appeared alongside Olivia Munn and Justin Theroux in the drama “Violet”. In 2023, she appeared in the comedy “We’ve Got a Ghost Here”, which was the last production with the participation of the actress.
