The emotions after the ceremonial opening of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games have not yet subsided. As every year, the event featured the song “Imagine” from the repertoire, which the person responsible for the broadcast on TVP called a “communist manifesto”. This remark clearly did not go down well with the station’s authorities, because the presenter was suspended from his duties. This, in turn, caused huge controversy and was met with a boycott from competing media.

Several materials supporting Babiarz and at the same time criticizing the station’s unfounded decision have already appeared on the air. Now he decided to address the matter in the program “Jedziemy” during a conversation with MP Adam Andruszkiewicz from Law and Justice. – The Olympic Games were different, but we have not seen anything like what happened in Paris. How should we understand making fun of Christians? – asked the host at the beginning, referring to a parody of the painting “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci.
Then he mentioned Babiarz, emphasizing that his statement about Lennon’s song was “obvious” and that TVP’s reaction was nothing more than a manifestation of “repressive censorship”. – What consequences and what tools do you, as opposition politicians in Poland today, have to bring legal responsibility to those who, in the majesty of the law, use repressive censorship today? – he asked. Andruszkiewicz replied that the basis for any action is regaining power in the country. However, he could not finish his thought, because after just one sentence, the agitated Rachoń interrupted him. The atmosphere unexpectedly reached its zenith.

The host of “Jedziemy” clearly did not like the fact that the MP made his actions dependent on external factors, which he did not fail to mention bluntly. – It is easiest to say it this way, but regaining power in the country is the future. It is happening here and now – he began, clearly irritated. – You are politicians, you are the largest political party in the Polish parliament – he thundered on air, adding that he was only interested in what the party is able to implement now. – Something is brazenly happening before our eyes that is questioning the basic principles in force in civilized states – he explained, becoming increasingly emotional.
At the same time, he emphasized that, according to his knowledge, there are a number of tools and legal provisions that allow for an appropriate response and care for the future of the nation, because that is what citizens expect. “I and my viewers are interested in what you will do now,” he concluded his speech, waiting for the interlocutor’s reaction. Andruszkiewicz nodded, expressing hope that the Confederation and PSL MPs will support the proposal to overthrow the current government. However, he explained that for now there is no such executive power that would allow for decisions to be made that go beyond what has been established from above. “I responded this way because my heart hurts when I see how the Ministry of Truth works,” the politician concluded.
