In early April this year, she announced on social media that her prolonged absence from the air was due to a serious illness. The journalist was diagnosed with a brain tumor and required surgery. In an interview with tvn24.pl, she told us about the first worrying symptoms that prompted her to see a doctor, and in an interview with “Dzień dobry TVN” she and her fiancé went back to the day she was diagnosed.

In a conversation with , in her case it started with a regular headache. – Her right temple hurt regularly, for three minutes, every three hours – she said. But that was not yet the reason she decided to go to the doctor. However, the pain was accompanied by a loss of short-term memory:
During the commercial break, I repeated to myself what I was supposed to say after the commercial. And when the light came on, I had no idea what to say. I forgot what I had read a moment earlier – said the journalist.
Joanna Kryńska returned to work in July after surgery and convalescence. Last weekend, she and her fiancé were guests at the “Dzień dobry TVN” studio. The man was with her when she left the doctor’s office shortly after hearing the diagnosis – “brain tumor, probably meningioma”, located very close to the speech apparatus:
The hardest part is behind us. (…) When she came out of the examination, she collapsed in my arms, almost fainted in the waiting room, she was crying. I was convinced that she was crying with happiness, that everything was OK, that a different direction of treatment had to be chosen. But as soon as she told me what was causing the pain, I held her with one hand and with the other I checked on the internet what we were dealing with, the prognosis was at the level of 85%. We decided on a certain plan, a road map of treatment. I approached it as a task – said Grzegorz Jędrzejewski.
