Don’t put this in your suitcase under any circumstances. Policewoman warns

When packing for vacation, we think about the beach and relaxation, not the dangers that may lurk for us during vacation. Policewoman Małgorzata Sokołowska reminded people going on vacation about the safety rules regarding luggage.

Sub-inspector Małgorzata Sokołowska has been running an Instagram profile called @z_pamietnika_policjantki for years. It is there that she shares safety tips and interesting facts about the life of a policewoman with her followers. Her profile is followed by 109 thousand people. During the holiday season, she warned Poles going on holiday not to pack a few specific things in their suitcases.

Never pack this in your suitcase

When we pack for a long-awaited vacation, we often forget about safety rules in the rush of emotions and responsibilities. This is a mistake, because vacations are a time when pickpockets are more active. Crowds and chaos at the airport encourage theft, so it is worth minimizing the risk. Policewoman Małgorzata Sokołowska advised her fans how to do it.

“When you plan how to arrange your luggage in a suitcase and backpack, never hide all your valuables, i.e. cash, credit cards, documents, in one place, in case you are robbed. Then you won’t lose everything,” she emphasized in a recording on Instagram. She added that the best option is to use various types of fanny packs, which adhere to the body and are constantly in our sight.

Backpack and checked luggage. What to watch out for when traveling?

And what if we are traveling with a backpack? “It is worth hanging the backpack in front, so that we can control it, and, importantly, do not put any valuables, such as a wallet, in these external pockets,” advises Sokołowska.

In addition, she reminded not to hide valuables in checked luggage. “Remember to never hide things in checked luggage or in the hold that could get lost or stolen during transport,” she noted.
