Last Friday, the greatest hits of the band Europe resounded live during a concert organized at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw. During the performance, the band’s leader addressed the fans in Polish several times, mainly swearing, but he stirred up the greatest emotions when he mentioned… Robert Lewandowski.

On July 26, 2024, Warsaw turned into a true capital of rock music, as an incredible concert took place as part of the first edition of the festival. Thousands of fans of this genre gathered under the stage, wanting to listen to legendary hits from the 80s and 90s live. Which stars honored us with their presence?

The Warsaw Rocks event stirred up huge emotions from the very beginning, mainly due to its impressive line-up. The event opened with a performance by Omega Testamentum, a kind of continuation of the cult Hungarian band OMEGA. Then it was time for some local sounds, as musicians led by Sebastian Riedel appeared on stage, performing hits such as “Czerwony jak cegła” and “Wehikuł czasu”.

The biggest stars of the evening were undoubtedly , who performed the top numbers from their repertoire. Among others, the famous “Wind of Change” and “Send me an Angel” were heard, but the impressive setting and numerous solos also made a special impression. The performance of the group Europe did not go unnoticed in the media, and especially the behavior of its leader.

It has happened many times that foreign stars during a concert in Poland have tried to establish contact with the audience, preparing various kinds of surprises. Some of them decided to perform a cover of a Polish hit, here it is enough to mention the recent , during which the musicians presented an interpretation of a fragment of the song “Kocham Cię, kochanie moje” from the legendary repertoire . Others learn a few words in Polish to address their fans in this way.

In the case of the band Europe it was no different, but their frontman Joey Tempest decided on a rather unusual choice. Before he sang hits such as “Carrie” or the hit “Final Countdown”, he uttered a few vulgar words, including the juicy “k***a” and “s**a”. However, that was not the end. When he noticed how expressive the fans were reacting to it, he managed a short but eloquent summary. “I feel like Robert Lewandowski,” he said into the microphone, which made the audience laugh.
