It is no secret that the love of the artist’s life was Kamil Sipowicz, whom she met in the early 70s. Their first meeting was partly a coincidence, they were riding in the elevator together in the block where they both lived, with the difference that he shared his four walls with his mother, and she with Marek Jackowski and son Mateusz. They immediately felt that there was a spark between them, but the romance was born only when Sipowicz began working with Maanam in 1975. “Kora was my first woman,” he openly confessed in the pages of “Wysokie Obcasy”.
Nobody knew what connected them outside of work, not even their closest friends. For the singer, keeping a secret was so important that when she got pregnant, she didn’t tell him he was the father. “Of course, I guessed that Szymon was my son. I was close to Kora, her family, I felt a special bond with Szymon,” Sipowicz said. Some time later, the singer moved with her family to Krakow. Then her husband began to suspect that she was unfaithful to him. Eventually, it came to light that she had cheated on him with a neighbor. “Marek found out about us. First of all, Szymon found out. He was 10 at the time. Kora explained everything to him. He understood,” Sipowicz recalled, adding that her son never held a grudge against her for it.
Kora’s second son was the fruit of an affair with Sipowicz. He found out who his father was when he was 10.
The decision to divorce was obvious for Kora and Jackowski. In 1984, their marriage was formally annulled, and she could officially enter into a relationship with Sipowicz. Since then, they have been inseparable, creating a harmonious duo both privately and professionally, but they decided to do so only in 2013, when the artist was diagnosed with cancer. “Some people said that Kora would die after the operation, and I believed that we had a fight ahead of us, at least five years. And so it happened,” said Sipowicz, emphasizing that this was the reason they decided to formalize their relationship. “I had to be a husband to find my way in this whole medical and oppressive structure. To be able to receive the results, go to the ward, make decisions,” he explained. They got married during a modest ceremony organized in their own home in Warsaw’s Bielany. They were accompanied by only a few of their closest friends. “It wasn’t a dream wedding due to the circumstances. And then our love had various phases – admitted Sipowicz.
