He fell victim to burglars more than once. Now he admits it openly. “I’m a little grateful for that”

Although Mietek Szcześniak’s songs have enjoyed enormous popularity for years, little is known about him. The vocalist avoids the spotlight and has tried to live a life far from show business since the beginning of his career. In his latest interview, however, he made an exception and opened up about some unpleasant experiences.

Mietek Szcześniak is undoubtedly one of the most talented artists in the domestic music industry. He has many excellent songs to his credit, but the most popular is the legendary , which he recorded in a duet with Edyta Górniak for the film adaptation of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s “With Fire and Sword” directed by . And although the singer’s popularity has not waned for decades, his private life is still shrouded in mystery.

Thieves broke into Mietek Szcześniak’s house. This is how the singer reacted

Since the beginning of his career, he has avoided media hype, and the interviews he has given could be counted on the fingers of one hand. In the podcast “Wprost kontranie” hosted by Paulina Socha-Jakubowska, he confessed that fame has never dominated his life and he has tried to maintain this state of affairs. “I like to live normally,” he admitted with sincerity, adding that sensitivity and faith in goodness have already turned against him several times.

It turns out that over the years he fell victim to thieves. “I was robbed twice in Warsaw, in my apartment, and in Krakow, where I also lived,” he revealed. At the same time, he emphasized that he did not protect his property like other stars do, for example by setting up cameras or alarms in the house. “I did not live behind barbed wire, behind some barriers, just normally. And this “normally” was exploited,” he stated.

Szcześniak speaks honestly about his approach to life. This is what difficult times have taught him

He didn’t hide the fact that both of these situations initially shocked him a lot, after all someone had invaded his personal space, but with time he began to notice other aspects of them as well. He realized then that material things really don’t matter at all, and the only thing that matters is what kind of person you are. “It’s overwhelming, but I wondered, sitting on this pile of mess, because everything was scattered from the drawers, in the middle of the room, to look through it as quickly as possible,” he said.

Only later did he feel somewhat grateful for this experience, because it was thanks to it that he realized what the essence and meaning of life is. “I’m actually a little grateful too, because it shows me what’s worth,” he confessed. Since then, he has been guided by the words he once heard. “Not to invest your heart and your treasures in something that will burn, that can sink, that can rust, because it won’t last,” Szcześniak concluded.
