It would seem that people who create music earn a fortune, but in reality only a few are able to support themselves with this passion. One source of income is sharing their songs on popular , although their goal is mainly promotion, not earnings, because this, as it turns out, is really small.

According to the new regulations, which came into effect in April 2024, only recordings with at least a thousand plays in 12 months are included in the calculation of royalties. The situation wasn’t looking good before either. Already at the end of 2023, rappers Gural and complained on social media about the service’s too low rates. Now, Michał Augustyniak, known in the industry under the pseudonym Limboski, a popular guitarist from Wałcz, has joined the group of dissatisfied. Although he gathers approximately 60 thousand listeners each month, the amount he receives is appallingly low.

It shows that only €0.36 will be transferred to his account. The vast majority of this amount is a fee for sharing “Wonderful Life”, which had 2,290 streams, making it the most popular among listeners. It is for this that he received €0.25 from Spotify.
