He booked a cottage on the Baltic Sea, then checked out accommodations in Croatia. “The last time”

Before the holiday season, it was announced that this year the prices of accommodation on the Baltic Sea would not increase drastically compared to previous years. Unfortunately, the reality disappointed tourists. One of the Internet users recently confessed how much he paid for his accommodation on the Polish seaside and checked what costs he would incur if he decided to spend his holiday in Croatia.

History likes to repeat itself, and although this year it was not supposed to be expensive on the Baltic Sea, it is. Since the beginning of the holiday season, there have been posts on the web from disappointed tourists. They complain not only about high prices in restaurants, but also about horrendously expensive accommodation. For this reason, more and more people decide to spend one day in Baltic resorts – without booking accommodation. Recently, a tourist who decided to rent a cottage by the sea compared the prices with accommodation in Croatia. He did not hide his disappointment.

Prices on the Baltic Sea and prices in Croatia

Mr. Dawid shared his observations on the X platform. “The prices in Poland are an unfunny joke,” he began. Then he added: “It’s time to think about Croatia or the Balkans for the summer, because it’s cheaper there and the weather is always good. An example? At the end of July I’m going to the Polish seaside for a few days (5 nights) with my family 2+2. I’m renting a cottage in a resort: 2 bedrooms, a living room, a swimming pool in the children’s area. The cost of accommodation? PLN 2,000. Croatia? I don’t have to comment on the prices and write where it’s better to spend your vacation.”

The man added photos of foreign offers to confirm his thesis. He noticed that 1,000 PLN more would be enough to enjoy a luxurious holiday in a Croatian resort. It is not surprising that many Poles choose accommodation with swimming pools, located on the Adriatic Sea itself, instead of expensive accommodation of the PRL standard on the Baltic Sea.

“I simply can’t afford a vacation in Poland”

A discussion about this year’s prices broke out in the comments. “I’ve been choosing holidays abroad for a few years now. I simply can’t afford a holiday in Poland”, “I’ve just come back from vacation, 2+2, Krakow and Zakopane… Sir, go f**k with these prices, this is the last time I’m spending my vacation in Poland”, “5 days in Albania – PLN 1,000 per couple”, “I’ve just come back from Croatia – 11 days, 2 adults, driving my own car from Wroclaw – the whole stay cost us less than PLN 12,000. This included a 4-day stay in Dubrovnik, which has a reputation for being expensive. After Vienna, I found it quite cheap. There’s a scenic train in Dubrovnik for EUR 27/person” – we read.
