In recent years, the media has often cited stories of people who are in a difficult financial situation. However, what pisses me off is that these are usually heroes who openly say that they earn several thousand złoty a month. So I decided to speak out on the matter. In my opinion, in all this, people who are much poorer are forgotten.
We used to think that such earnings would allow us to live a peaceful life
I never had any dreams of wealth. When choosing my studies, I wasn’t guided by what profession would provide me with the highest salary. A few years ago, my modest salary was enough for a normal life. I didn’t have to think about what I could afford and what I couldn’t afford when shopping. I went on vacation every year. However, everything started to change after 2020. I think that since then, the life of people like me has turned into a nightmare. I never thought that financial problems would be one of my biggest worries.
I am 30 years old and currently earn 4 thousand. My husband earns 6 thousand. We rent an apartment and do not have children yet. A few years ago we thought that our joint earnings would allow us to live a relatively peaceful life. Now at the end of the month we often do not have enough for basic needs.

I love my job, but it doesn’t translate into earnings
It’s a pity that in our country the price increase has not gone hand in hand with the increase in earnings. Those who can boast of salary increases are, in my opinion, the lucky ones. Someone might say that I should change jobs. However, with my education and qualifications, it is not that easy. I work in local media and I love what I do. My work gives me great satisfaction. Unfortunately, this does not translate into earnings. I am increasingly realizing that my idealism in professional matters is simply stupid.
I don’t see any hope for the future. The previous government messed up so much in this matter that I don’t believe that the current government could improve the financial situation of people like me with their decisions. It seems unrealistic to me. I have always wanted to live in Poland because I love my country and I am very close to my family and friends. Unfortunately, I am increasingly considering emigration.
