is currently one of the most popular Polish authors. The writer debuted in 2006 with the novel “Do Me Some Harm…, or All Video Games Are About Love”. As the author recalls, it was a time when he was “shocked” by the fact that someone went to a bookstore and bought his book.
Jakub Żulczyk boasted of another success
And quite a few people did, especially for a debut. The first print run of “Do Me Some Harm” was sold out, and the author gained a group of supporters. Two years later, the novel “Radio Armageddon” was published, and in 2010, the dark “Institute”. Then, for a while, the writer turned to fantasy and published “Zmorojewo” and “Temples”. The books, which are not as popular as the rest of Żulczyk’s publications, were soon to turn out to be an introduction to the writer’s huge success.
In 2014, the novel “Ślepnąc od światła” was published, which solidified Jakub Żulczyk’s position among the most popular authors in Poland. The bestseller was nominated for the Polityka Passport, and a series of the same title was created based on it. In 2023, the long-awaited sequel to the novel “Once Upon a Time in Warsaw” was released, and fans of Żulczyk’s work are counting on its film adaptation. Previously, the author published “Wzgórze pies”, which will soon have a series version on Netflix, “Czarne Słońce” and “Informacja zwrotna” (an adaptation of the novel with Arkadiusz Jakubik in the main role is available on Netflix).
Together with the Świat Książki publishing house, Jakub Żulczyk boasted a huge success eight years after his debut novel. The author can now add a million books sold to his list of achievements. “Money and numbers aren’t everything in this industry, but I’m proud and happy and I thank you very, very much. I never thought it would turn out like this,” Żulczyk writes on Facebook. “Today I may not be shocked anymore, but I still feel confused and disoriented,” he adds.
