Just before “19:30” a banner appeared. TVP apologizes again for the crew from the “good change” era

Those viewers who were waiting for the release of “19.30” on Monday evening, saw a white board right before the program. TV Channel One had to take responsibility for the actions of the “Wiadomości” editorial office once again.

Why did TVP1 have to show such a board? It’s all because of the material from “Wiadomości” broadcast in 2019. This is yet another apology from Telewizja Polska, which executes court judgments for materials that were shown on public television during the previous government’s rule.

“19.30” apologizes for “News”

“Telewizja Polska SA expresses its sincere regret for the violation of the personal rights of Ms. Iwona Wyszogrodzka in the form of providing personal data, in particular her first and last name, and apologizes to Ms. Iwona Wyszogrodzka for violating her good name and personal dignity as a result of the publication on February 4 and 5, 2019 in the main, nationwide editions of TVP News, of materials bearing the image of Ms. Iwona Wyszogrodzka, in the context of the protest that took place on February 2, 2019 at Jasna Street in Warsaw,” one could read.

Just a few days ago, TVP did the same. It concerns the protests that took place in 2019 in front of one of the headquarters of Telewizja Polska. A group of activists blocked the exit of a car belonging to, among others, Magdalena Ogórek. “Wiadomości” and TVP Info published materials saying, among other things, that the protesters were struggling with the police, although the protest was peaceful. In the then flagship news program of Telewizja Polska, the protest was described as a “brutal attack by an organized group of people on Magdalena Ogórek”.

What’s more, the creators of the materials made public the personal data of the protesters and their images and places of work in “Wiadomości”. Some of them received death, beating or rape threats after the broadcast, others lost their jobs.
