They enter Polish homes even on Saturdays. You can’t refuse them entry. A visit is mandatory.

Mandatory meter changes are underway throughout Poland. This means that if installers knock on your door, you are required to let them in. Visits will also take place on Saturdays. What is worth knowing?

During the replacement, old meters will be replaced by new, intelligent devices that automatically collect and transmit data. Thanks to this, later readings will be possible at any time and remotely, without the need to come to the apartment. The campaign began two years ago and is planned to reach 80% of customers with new meters by 2028.

Why replace the meter? There are several reasons

The exchange of meters applies to both apartment blocks and single-family houses. Currently, many of them are located outside, in easily accessible places, which does not require the presence of household members. However, if the devices are located in rooms to which the controller does not have access on his own, the presence of the tenants will be necessary during the entire process. For this reason, visits are also possible on Saturdays. It is worth noting that this is a mandatory process to which you cannot refuse consent. This is due to the Meter Act of 2021. The exchange aims to better manage energy consumption, while simplifying data reading. In addition, it will be easier to change the supplier, which may have an impact on greater competition and more favorable prices.
