Adele Takes Career Break Because She ‘Hates Being Famous’: ‘I Miss Life Before I Was Famous’

Following the success of her fourth album, Adele embarked on a tour to promote the release. This tour is inevitably coming to an end, but fans who were expecting more music from her will be disappointed. The singer has just announced that she plans to take a break from her career.

She made her debut in the music industry in 2006, and today she is considered one of the most popular singers in the world. She has four studio albums to her credit, sold in millions of copies, and a dozen or so big hits, such as “Rolling in the Deep”, “Hello”, “Easy On Me” and “Someone Like You”, which constantly conquer the charts.

Adele’s tour is coming to an end. What are the star’s plans? Fans won’t be happy

The singer’s latest album, “30”, debuted on the publishing market in 2021 and quickly became a hit among listeners. She decided to promote it with a series of “Weekends with Adele” performances organized during her residency in Las Vegas. This was to begin in early 2022, but the plans were thwarted when one of the musicians from her band became seriously ill. At that time, the tour was moved to autumn and the first ones turned out to be a huge success, gathering real crowds.

It wasn’t without complications, however, because in the meantime she also had health problems. For this reason, in March 2024, she changed her schedule and canceled all performances planned for that month to regain her strength. Fans, although bitter, hoped that she would compensate them with new songs, released right after the end of the tour. However, this is unlikely to happen soon, because it has just turned out that she is planning a break in her career.

No one expected this. Adele is putting her career on hold. She says she doesn’t want to be famous

Adele has already disappeared from show business several times to take a break from popularity and constant media attention. In keeping with tradition, she has decided to take a break from her artistic career. “I don’t plan on making new music,” she told ZDF. “I want to take a longer break and I think I’ll do other creative things for a while,” she said of her plans, adding that her August concerts in Munich, Germany, will be her last for now.

She has previously emphasized in interviews that she is overwhelmed by fame and misses the times when she did not arouse such huge interest. She admitted that she never dreamed of such popularity, and that recognition is the biggest disadvantage of what she does. “I miss my life before fame. Most of all, being anonymous. I don’t like being popular,” she confessed, emphasizing that she is grateful for her listeners and for having someone to create for. “The part where there is fame, I hate it and I miss everything that was before it. The fact that people are interested in my voice and songs is crazy. I don’t think it will ever become normal for me,” she concluded. If you’d like, please vote in our poll below.
