American singer Katy Perry, known for hits such as “California Girls”, “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot n Cold”, and winner of five American Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards and four Guinness records, announced on Wednesday the release of her sixth studio album, titled ‘143’, which will be released on September 20th.

The pop singer shared the release of her new album on social media, attaching an image of the cover, in which Perry is seen floating in the middle of a pink and blue whirlwind. “I set out to create a bold, exuberant, and celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic numerical expression 143 of love as its central message.”Perry said in a statement reported by the American newspaper Variety.

‘143’ refers to the code for ‘I love you’, used in text messages in the early 1990s. The project will be led by the single ‘Woman’s World’, of which several fragments have already been previewed in recent weeks, and whose release is scheduled for next Friday. At the moment, more details of this new stage of Perry’s music are unknown. Her latest album, ‘Smile’, was released in August 2022, becoming the singer’s lowest-performing project in years.
