New series hit on Polish Netflix. What is “Desperate Lies” about?
The series “Desperate Lies” is a story about dreams in the shadow of huge turmoil, losses and life lessons. Liana dreams of becoming a mother, but is thwarted by dramatic events that affect her marriage to Tomas. After discovering her husband’s infidelity, Liana meets someone who takes advantage of her against her consent. She also has a rare twin pregnancy, in which the father of each child is a different person. Liana wants to keep this fact a secret at all costs, but she can’t cope with the excess of emotions; she also doesn’t know if she will be able to love both children equally and not jeopardize family relationships.
The Netflix production has been number one on Polish Netflix for several days now. The series recently beat the hit superhero series “Supacell” and the shocking production “The Man with 1000 Children”. “Desperate Lies” is also doing well in the past week. Although the series only hit streaming last Friday, it still found itself in the TOP10 most watched Netflix series in Poland in the first week of July.

The first season of the Brazilian melodrama is also doing well abroad. It hit the top in 21 countries, including Argentina, Paraguay, Malta, Portugal and Slovakia.
