Today, Krzysztof Ibisz is one of the most popular presenters in Poland. However, before he joined television, he tried his hand at acting, and later… at politics. Few people remember that for a while he was even a member of parliament and was actively involved in the country’s affairs. Why did he eventually give it up?

He started his career in TVP, then for a while he was associated with TVN, and since 2000 he has been working in Polsat, hosting various events and entertainment programs. What did Krzysztof Ibisz study? He first studied acting

However, before he became , he tried his hand at many other fields and had a completely different plan for his career path. After successfully passing his high school exams, he began studying at the Łódź Film School, which he successfully graduated from in 1988. At that time, he had already made his screen debut, having starred in the series “Crane and Heron” 3 years earlier. Later, he appeared in such productions as “Desperation”, “Gdańsk 39” and “The Art of Loving”, gaining more and more popularity.

At that time he also decided to become a journalist and, following the momentum, he did postgraduate studies in this field at the University of Warsaw. However, he did not give up acting. At the same time, he performed on the stages of the Ochota and Studio theatres in the capital, playing in popular plays, and also fulfilled himself in dubbing. He lent his voice to many characters in fairy tales and animations, including Fred from and Migotka from “Moomins”. It is hard to believe that at some point he came up with the idea to take up politics.

What party was Ibisz in? He served as a member of the Sejm of the 1st term for 2 years

Few people know that he was involved in the country’s affairs and was an active activist since his teenage years. He participated in protests against the communist government, fighting for freedom, which led to him having to deal with the militia many times. This meant that in 1991, as a member of the Polish Party of Friends of Beer, he decided to run in the elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, gaining support. “I decided to try my hand at it. Working in the Sejm of the first term taught me determination and strengthened my sense of responsibility. Also, the fact that I participated in the work of the Culture and Media Committee allowed me to gain a broader perspective on the topics of television and media in general,” he revealed on Onet.

He served as an MP from 1991 to 1993 and did not seek re-election. In the meantime, he joined the so-called Małe Piwo Faction, later transformed into the “Spolegliwość” Parliamentary Circle, and also the Nadzieja Pensioners’ and Retirees’ Party Parliamentary Circle. And although he eventually resigned, there is no shortage of recordings of his speeches on the Sejm rostrum on the web.
