A blooper in “Millionaires”. A participant thought it wouldn’t be recorded, she revealed the program’s secret

A “Millionaires” contestant accidentally revealed what the recordings for the show are really like. The host had a few seconds to get out of the awkward blunder.

“Millionaires” is very popular with viewers both in Poland and in Great Britain, where it is called “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. In the UK, the program is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, a journalist and presenter who gained worldwide fame thanks to the television show “Top Gear”. It was he who had to deal with a mishap that occurred in one of the episodes of the game show. What exactly happened?

When Maria King sat in the player’s seat, the host of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” certainly did not imagine that in a moment he would have to face a colossal blunder that would throw off not only the participant, but also himself.

The blunder occurred just after the characteristic sound was heard in the studio and the red lights came on. The signal announcing the end of the episode confused the participant, who accidentally revealed what the recordings for “Millionaires” looked like.

“Do you know what that means?” asked Jeremy Clarkson. “I have to go change…” the contestant blurted out without thinking. Only after a moment did she realize that she had made a mistake: “Wait… Should I say that?!” she screamed, covering her face with her hands. After these words, the audience heard the host’s nervous laughter.

He himself, probably not knowing what to do, decided to explain to the audience how the recordings for the show look like. “That’s exactly it, you’re absolutely right. I’ll see you in about an hour,” Jeremy Clarkson began, then added: “As for the viewers… you’re going home and we’ll see you next week!” The embarrassed participant managed to squeeze out a quiet “I’m sorry.”
