Ewa Telega was hailed as the most promising of her generation while studying at the Łódź Film School, from which she graduated in 1981. Although she made her debut two years later in “Kasztelanka” by Marek Nowicki, delighting viewers and critics, fame did not come to her quickly. In the following years she played for many outstanding directors, but it was her role first in “Siódmy pokój” by Marta Meszaros, and then in “Łóżko Wierszynina” by Andrzej Domalik that brought her the greatest recognition in the community.

Despite her dynamically developing career, the actress’s private life was for some time overshadowed by dark clouds. When she was only 23, her first husband, cameraman Marcin Isajewicz, died in a tragic accident. “I went through a nightmare. I had no children, no memento of Marcin. I was left completely alone,” she said, adding that it took her many years to come to terms with this loss. She only regained the meaning of life and faith in love thanks to Andrzej Domalik, whom she met in 1992. It was he who extended a helping hand to her when one day she was trapped in her small apartment with a broken leg.
The actress had just ended another toxic relationship, and the director, who was 13 years her senior, was divorcing his first wife. Although it never crossed their minds that they could be more than friends, fate had a completely different plan. They fell head over heels in love and were a couple after just a few weeks. “Andrzej moved in with me after a week. We got married in Paris right after that,” Telega told “Pani.” “In all those years, we’ve never experienced a crisis, we’ve been calmly going through life,” she emphasized in the same interview.
Telega and Domalik’s daughter is also an actress. Zofia is 28 years old and has several great roles under her belt.
The couple had Zofia together, who was born on October 10, 1995. Although as a child and later a teenager, she had many passions and interests, acting was never one of them. She was convinced that she was not cut out for performing in front of the camera. “I lived in the belief that you had to be skinny to be pretty. This pursuit of the ideal was wearing me out. The series director was said to have made indiscriminate comments about her acting, and the make-up artists insulted her because of the severe acne she was struggling with. “It had a huge impact on my self-esteem,” she admitted, adding that it was one of the reasons she developed eating disorders and complexes that she couldn’t deal with for years. Despite being aware of the brutality of the film world, when she had no idea what to do with her life after successfully passing her final exams, she decided without much conviction to try her hand at the entrance exams to the Warsaw theatre school. Imagine her surprise when it turned out that she had been given an A. However, her peers quickly cheered her on, gossiping that her success was due to a famous name.
Zofia Domalik emphasizes that the fame of her parents, especially her mother, has never worked to her advantage. On the contrary, she has always been expected to do more and has been perceived through the prism of Telega’s achievements. – I was afraid that I would always be compared to my mother, especially since we have similar characters. I think that many children of artists have exactly the same as I had – she said some time ago in “Dzień Dobry TVN”. Today, she tries not to pay attention to the opinions of others and works hard for her success. The 28-year-old has already played roles in productions such as “Zorza polarna”, “Szadź”, “Zawsze warto”, or “Wszystko dla mojej matki”, for which she was awarded two Eagles from the Polish Film Academy.
