The Ministry of Culture is to apologize to TV Republika. The District Court has issued a verdict
Jarosław Olechowski, head of TV Republika publishers, published the verdict of the District Court in Warsaw, which found the conduct of the Ministry of Culture to be unlawful and ordered the station to apologize.
“A crushing court verdict against the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for not allowing TV Republika journalists to attend the ministry’s press conferences. According to the court, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz violated the provisions on the right to information and a number of international conventions. We are effectively fighting the Tusk regime to maintain freedom of speech in Poland,” Olechowski writes on the X portal.

However, this is not the only situation in which a TV Republika journalist was not allowed into a press conference. A week ago, a similar incident occurred before a meeting of journalists with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Adrian Borecki was not allowed into the room. In turn, at the beginning of 2024, TV Republika journalists were not allowed to cover the conference of Justice Minister Adam Bodnar.
– We have already filed a complaint with the National Broadcasting Council against the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. We will file lawsuits against any state institution behaving in a similar manner – Olechowski emphasizes in an interview with Wirtualne Media.
