New Polish drama coming to cinemas soon. The trailer for “Wróbel” encouraged viewers: You have to go see it

The new Polish film “Wróbel” will hit cinemas on August 23. “It is a story about the irony of life, told with distance and intelligent humor. Absurdity meets truth and a pinch of magical realism,” we read in the announcements. The main roles are played by Jacek Borusiński, Julia Chêtnicka, Krzysztof Stroiński, Piotr Rogucki and Bart³omiej Kotschedoff.

– I have always appreciated films that tell important stories in a light and funny way. I would like my film to contain such, even a small, truth about a person – says Tomasz Gąssowski – screenwriter, composer of music and director of “Wróbel”. Gąssowski is a multi-award-winning creator, composer of music for Andrzej Jakimowski’s films (including “Sztuczki”, “Zmruż oczy”, MocArt RMF Classic for the best film music in 2013 for the film “Imagine”) and director (“Baraż”).

The main role in the film “Wróbel” will be played by Jacek Borusiński, with whom Gąssowski had already collaborated in his previous production, “Baraż”. – We both attach great importance to nuances, details, small but important things that make us laugh and move us. Tomek has an incredible ability to show large, important things in a light way, in a world somewhere far from the center, on the outskirts, where our hero, Remek Wróbel, lives – a tragicomic character, and above all, I hope, a real one – emphasizes the actor.
