Zofia Zborowska reassures a fan who is afraid of pregnancy. “Have a cesarean section. PiS is no longer in power”

Zofia Zborowska decided to support a fan who is afraid of giving birth. Unfortunately, the actress made a mistake while giving advice. Reading her post, we can conclude that the PiS government has banned Polish women from giving birth by caesarean section.

It is no secret that the tightening of abortion law in 2020 discouraged many women from getting pregnant. The tragic stories of several pregnant Polish women also contributed to this – Izabela from Pszczyna, Agnieszka from Częstochowa, Dorota from Tarnów. The topic of fear of pregnancy and childbirth recently returned during a question and answer session on Zofia Zborowska’s profile.

Zborowska to a fan: It’s the 21st century. PiS is no longer in power

One of the actress’s fans wrote that she was afraid of pregnancy and childbirth. So she decided to ask for advice. “Stress is blocking me from deciding to get pregnant. How to deal with it?” – she wrote. In response, the actress shared her thoughts. “Then have a cesarean section. It’s the 21st century. PiS is no longer in power. We are leaving the Middle Ages. You don’t have to give birth naturally. You can have a cesarean section,” the fan replied.

We must note, however, that while the PiS government tightened abortion law in 2020, it did not prohibit Polish women from giving birth by cesarean section. And we could draw such erroneous conclusions by reading Zborowska’s post.

Currently, in Polish hospitals, the decision to perform a caesarean section must have a medical justification when there are indications related to the health of the child or the woman. It also happens that not all caesareans are planned. Sometimes during natural childbirth, complications arise that require such an intervention.

Abortion Law in Poland. What Has Changed After the Election?

In 2020, the abortion law was tightened. The Julia Przyłębska Tribunal stated in its justification of the judgment that terminating pregnancy for embryopathological reasons is inconsistent with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The government of Mateusz Morawiecki published the judgment.

Although the law has not yet been changed, Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna announced that hospitals that do not perform legal abortions will not have a contract with the National Health Fund. – We must remind all doctors that invoking Article 39 of the Act on the Medical and Dental Professions, i.e. the article that states that a doctor may refuse to perform a specific medical procedure, may be used, but never when the health or life of the patient is at risk. This is what Article 30 of the same Act says – Leszczyna said in January this year.
