Alcalá Norte and Ibil Bedi at the Glad Is The Day festival in San Sebastian
Basque: Alcalá Norte and Ibil Bedi, Glad Is The Day Donostiako Hialdian
On August 4th, this year, for the eighth time, Cristina Enea Park will be the venue for concerts, a market and children’s games. Between 12:00 and 21:00, you can listen to, among other things, the post-punk of Madrid’s Alcalá Norte, the pop of Ibil Bedi and the swing of Arrastearras’ Erromintxelak.
The market at Cristina Enea will consist of fifty stalls (vintage shops, local designers, etc.), and there will be activities aimed at children throughout the day.
Glad Is The Day will have two stages in the park. On the Main Stage you will be able to hear the surf rock of San Sebastian’s La Ola Maldita, the swing of Arrasate’s Erromintxelak, the postpunk of Madrid’s Alcalá Norte, who have gained tremendous popularity thanks to their song “La vida cañón”, the eclectic sounds of La Txama, Mágia Bruta, the pop of Ibil Bedi and the Mexican Silverio.
On the Ruina Sónica stage, dedicated to hip hop and “urban” sounds, Makeda (DJ), 1111 (Live), Alai (Live), Sara Goxua (DJ), Kalipotxo (Live), Sixsex (Live), Alta (DJ) and Sofy Suars (DJ) will perform.
The Glad Is The Day festival pays tribute to environmental activist Gladys Del Estal, who was murdered by the Civil Guard in 1979.
