How to prepare for a hair removal treatment? An expert reveals key aspects

As with most beauty treatments, there are dos and don’ts when getting your body waxed by a professional. Bare Bonita, shared some valuable information on Instagram that could determine whether or not you get a visit. The expert recommends:

  • exfoliate before your appointment. This should be done 24–48 hours before your treatment.
  • take a shower beforehand, preferably in warm water.
  • don’t trim your body hair, despite the temptation. It’s better to wait a little longer to see the final results.
  • go to the treatment without panties, and also remain without underwear after it is finished.

What not to do before epilation? It’s better to give up on this

Bare Bonita asked prospective clients to remove hair from their skin before undergoing the procedure. They did not apply any anesthetic cream. Its oily consistency can make it difficult to work with. There will be difficulties in applying the wax and skin irritations resulting from the ingredients in the product. The beautician advises that do not decide to epilate during menstruation. If it does occur, she recommends using a menstrual cup.

Bonita warns clients about what they drink before coming to the office. Beverages like coffee or alcohol can increase the sensitivity of the skin, which will contribute to greater pain during the procedure. In the event of a risk of catching bacteria and developing an infection, the beautician urges you to refrain from several activities at least 24-48 hours before the planned visit, including:

  • swimming,
  • use of the jacuzzi,
  • gym,
  • saunas,
  • sexual activity.
