For children, the best time of the year has just begun, the holidays. For parents, this means that they have to have eyes in the back of their heads and watch their children 24 hours a day. Few people know that for not watching their little one, you can get a penalty.

are associated with relaxation, beautiful weather and a moment of respite. In the case of children, this is indeed the case, because they have two months off from school, they can sleep and play as much as they want. Parents do not have the opportunity to take leave for the entire period, so they often let their children play on their own, e.g. in the yard in front of the house or on the playground under the staircase of an apartment building.

Until what age does a child need to be under care? Many people have no idea about this

They think the little one is definitely safe. After all, he’s playing in his own, familiar territory. If nothing suspicious has ever happened there, it’s impossible for anything bad to happen now. Usually, everyone around knows everyone else, neighbors know the child’s parents and know that he’s not in danger.

In practice, much depends on the child’s sense of independence and security, and this increases with age. In Poland, there are no specific regulations regarding the conditions of a child’s stay in the backyard. This does not mean, however, that every toddler can be left alone and not face any consequences.

Unattended child on playground. Will parent face punishment?

If you are wondering whether you can leave your child alone in the yard, pay attention to the Road Traffic Act. It talks about caring for a child using the road, and more precisely, that “A child up to 7 years of age may use the road only under the supervision of a person who is at least 10 years of age. This means that a 10-year-old can move around the streets on his own, and also take care of someone younger. However, this regulation does not apply in a residential area. A parent can be punished if they do not provide the child with appropriate care and expose him to danger. This is mentioned in the Code of Petty Offences. The fine can be up to PLN 20,000.
