In the series “Diagnoses of the Stars”, the singer talked about the impact the disease had on her life. “I couldn’t hear what someone was asking me when they had their back to me. My partner and I argued less. I couldn’t hear what they were saying to me, so everything was great in our relationship. No, I’m joking, of course, but Paweł and I laugh so much that otosclerosis is a recipe for a successful relationship,” she recalled with a laugh, adding that it was her partner who first noticed her hearing loss. “He noticed that I turned up the volume on stage and that I couldn’t hear what was being said to me,” the singer explained in an interview with Berenika Olesińska.
In 2023, Sarsa underwent surgery to implant a titanium valve in her left ear to slow down the progression of the disease. After the procedure, the singer struggled with troublesome side effects. “I heard a lot of things that didn’t exist. I heard someone calling me or my son crying and I heard it very close. I ran to his room, he was sleeping. Another thing, when someone very far away, at the other end of the house, said something, it seemed to me that he was next to me,” she commented.
Soon after, Sarsa fell ill with the flu, which also left its mark. “This caused some complication that at the moment the operated ear hears strangely, as if someone was tuning the radio and there are crackling sounds,” the singer added.
